Crumby Calamari

: by Lady Erin Langford

Munch Munch Sticking to seafood this weekend but don’t feel like scraping scales of the BBQ? Why not prep some Crumby Calamari, it’s inexpensive, healthy (probs not when fried) and very munchy. I lightened the taste with parsley and lemon zest for something a little more zingy. Fast and Easy so great if you’re entertaining a bunch of friends. BTW the pic above shows about half of what I cooked, but then again you can NEVER have enough crumby calamari.   […]

Scotch Eggs

: by Lady Erin Langford

Great Scott! Grab your Picnic Basket Boo-Boo! Munch Munch Munch omg Munch His Lordship recently surprised me with a Scotch Egg something I’d never tried and he loved from the short time he lived as a kid in England. I didn’t want to eat the crummy egg because it clearly wasn’t Gluten Free and my tum would have some serious issues if I ate the whole thing, so to appease him I had a bite. Wow so tasty I couldn’t […]

Sesame Wombok Crunchy Noodle Salad

: by Lady Erin Langford

Open Sesame! Munch Munch Munch My partner’s Mum makes this Crunchy Asian Noodle Salad all the time and it is just amazing. So very easy, so very tasty and oh my lordy so very munchy! Such a simple recipe that everyone will love. If it’s just the two of you prep everything and set aside half the cabbage mix leaving out half the nuts, noodles and dressing for the next day you serve it up (prevents serious sog factor).   […]

Potato Salad

: by Lady Erin Langford

Munch Munch I just adore eating potato salad with BBQ’ed food and made it myself for the first time on the weekend. Very happy with the results, in fact I wouldn’t change the recipe – first time luck I guess. BTW everyone at the BBQ loved the salad and there was none left in the bowl. To make it vego just omit the bacon :)     Makes enough for hosting a BBQ, lets say 10 small side serves – […]

South Western Quinoa

: by Lady Erin Langford

Munch Munch I came across this really interesting sounding recipe via Twitter feed by Cooking with Quinoa author Wendy Polisi (@cookingquinoa) after she started following me (@munchglutenfree) and my mouth started watering instantly! Made the recipe within a few ours of the discovery and had to substitute a few bits due to availability in Australia, the only thing I will change next time with regards to flavour is to add fresh coriander leaves, as I reckon it will really help […]

Tuna and Quinoa Breakfast Fritters

: by Lady Erin Langford

Frittering around with leftovers Munch Munch Our Sunday Breakies tend to involve me trying to make something edible with whatever is in the fridge from the weeks food shenanigans. Last night I made my tasty Tuna & Quinoa Fritters, we had a few leftover in the fridge and I thought it could make a really tasty breakie with minimal effort. I reckon this idea would work with other leftovers like Rissoles from the BBQ, Vegie Burger Patties or maybe even Thai […]

Tasting Plate

: by Lady Erin Langford

Lazy A** Sunday Night Dinner! Munch So I just couldn’t be bothered making food. Simple as that. I gathered whatever nommies were in the fridge and hey presto, Platter for Two. The great thing about doing a little platter like this for dinner is you get to use all the bits and bobs in the fridge and there’s no wastage.   I used a double cream brie, some falafels, black caviar and random dips, including my own guacamole. I always […]

Holy Moly Guacamole

: by Lady Erin Langford

It’s even fun just saying it Munch Munch Munch I have very fond memories of eating avocados in the tropics with my Mum and what greater celebration of the avocado is Guacamole? I’ve never had a guest that hasn’t asked what’s in it. It get’s smashed by my friends in minutes. I love eating wraps for lunch/dinner but there’s always quite a few leftover from the packet and I hate wasting food, so I tear up whats left and pop them under […]

Nigella Lawson Asian Glass Noodle Salad

: by Lady Erin Langford

Munch Munch Munch I have recruited the lovely Nigella Lawson this evening and her salad is a knockout.  So I used a bought BBQ Chicken. This is such a great little dish – no stove, no pots, no cooking. The secret to a really flavoursome glass noodle salad is too make sure the noodles are well and truly drained, sticky, not slippery.     Serves 6 Sides For The Dressing 2 cloves garlic, crushed 2 fresh long red chillies, deseeded and […]

Tuna & Quinoa Frittas

: by Lady Erin Langford

Munch Munch A total experiment that I’ve been thinking about for and while and was so yummy the partner kept picking the fritta bits off the plate before I was able to serve lunch. Moist from the tuna, sweet from the corn and pops of crunch from the quinoa, quick and tasty, not to mention healthy.       Serves 4 1/2 cup quinoa 425g Tuna in Brine, drained very well, 72g  Corn Kernels, also drained really well 1/4 cup […]

Kylie Kwong Fried Rice and Chilli Jam Chicken Skewers

: by Lady Erin Langford

Ginger in Fried Rice…the most moorish! Munch Munch Munch Three Munches for Fried Rice? Wait and see, you’ll never make it any other way again. I found Kylie Kwong’s Recipe on the ABC website, so Munchy I always have two serves. Also if you can’t find Chilli Jam anywhere, why not have a crack at making your own? I have tried a recipe that works beautifully, better than the gourmet jars I’ve found and way cheaper in the long run […]

Quinoa and Paprika Pumpkin

: by Lady Erin Langford

Munch Munch I just love this salad. We eat this most weeks accompanied by a piece of grilled salmon fillet. The zesty tang of the salad helps cut through grease, so perfect for eating with oily fish or BBQed meats. I found the recipe on the Gluten Free Goddess site, and adapted it to make it a little more filling with the Roasted Paprika Pumpkin.     Serve 4 large sides 1 cup quinoa, rinse in a fine sieve 2 […]

A can't remember a time when food hasn't been a part of my love of life. In fact part my very first memory is of my Nanna's Carambola tree in Darwin age 2-3. Since then it was sharing an Avocado with Mum and squishing the leftovers of the skin onto our faces for a free mask in Cairns age 7. Climbing Mango trees with my best friend Rachael in Mareeba aged 11. Scoffing three plates of Spaghetti before school athletics carnivals ages 10-17. Sucking the life out of tin of Sweet Condensed Milk as a little girl. To tell you the truth I still do this ;) Savouring my first Ham and Mushroom Croissant in Paris near the Musee D'Orsay age 24. Chomping down on my first Diddy Reis on my first trip to the USA age 25. Discovering via accident that finely shaved Garlic atop soft Brie is the best cracker combination ever Age 26. Eating everything off the street in Vietnam and consuming Pho for two weeks straight age 29. Munching on Cheese and sipping Moet Chandon in the Yarra age 30. Appreciating my first Veuve Cliquot after a show in Los Angeles age 31. So what I am saying is so many big moments of my life are in someway connected to food. I may not remember the names of the all the people I met but I will more than likely remember the kinds of food I ate at the time and be able to describe them to you in more details than you want to hear. So here on Munch Munch Munch is my love of food in all it's glory. A shame I didn't start documenting earlier.
